A simple email “cleanup” only helps temporarily. To combat spam, you need to turn it off at the account level. In this article, I’ll show you a simple method that will not only free up space in Gmail but also protect your personal data.

Here’s a simple step-by-step guide with screenshots that will help you declutter your email and remove your personal data from unnecessary websites.

You can do this from your phone, laptop, tablet, or computer — whatever’s most convenient for you.

Insider Tip: while revoking access to old apps stops spam and cleans your inbox, it's only the first step toward true digital privacy. If you want to bulletproof your Google account against actual hackers and data leaks, I highly recommend getting a Yubico YubiKey security key on Amazon. It is a hardware-based authentication device that provides the ultimate un-hackable protection for your emails, passwords, and sensitive cloud data.
