150 Grams of Pure Bliss or a Total Rip-off? Kinder Gran Sorpresa Disney: An Ostrich-Sized Egg with a Skater Mickey That Beats Any Collectible!
Kinder Gran Sorpresa Disney Review: 150g of Pure Joy or an Expensive Easter Rip-off?
Everything you need to know about the ostrich-sized egg, the premium Skater Mickey collectible, and why this giant unboxing feels like a trip back to the 90s
An Easter Kinder isn’t just chocolate; it’s a legal way for an adult to travel back to childhood and finally get that “dream toy.” This year, I cheated on Harry Potter with good old Disney and treated myself to the Kinder Gran Sorpresa.
When you hold this gargantuan egg in your hands — weighing as much as seven and a half regular Kinder Surprises — even a seasoned chocoholic’s heart skips a beat. Today, I’m breaking down whether the “Mickey Mouse & Friends” collection is worth the money and why I’m absolutely obsessed with the plastic quality.
You can see this Mickey in action in my unboxing video on YouTube here.
The Taste
The chocolate is exactly the same iconic flavor we love in the small ones, but here you get a whopping 150 grams!!!
For comparison, a standard Kinder Surprise is only 20g, meaning this is equivalent to 7.5 regular eggs! Now, that’s what I call size! The egg looks like it belongs to an ostrich (if you’ve ever been to an ostrich farm, you’ll truly appreciate the scale).
The Packaging
It’s honestly unreal! The design is gorgeous and feels so festive. The wrapping reminds me of the 90s, when gift wrapping first became a big thing — it’s that exact same crinkly, high-quality paper! It’s wrapped up like a bouquet, and I’m totally here for it.
Inside, you’ll find the classic yellow plastic “yolk” (capsule) that opens the old-fashioned way — snapping into two separate halves! Honestly, I prefer this over the modern hinged design. What about you?
The Collection
In this specific size, there wasn’t a Harry Potter collection available, but since I adore vintage Disney cartoons, the Mickey Mouse and Friends version caught my eye immediately.
I didn’t know exactly which characters were in the set, as the box only showed three: Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck. I was secretly hoping for some of the girls because I really wanted Daisy Duck (Donald’s girlfriend). But Kinder Surprise knows how to keep you on your toes — they proved it once again.
The Surprise
Of course, the star of the show is the toy! I had no idea who was inside until the very last second. It turned out to be an incredibly cool, highly detailed Mickey Mouse on a skateboard!
The level of detail is mind-blowing. First off, the plastic is premium quality — very pleasant to the touch. Secondly, the toy is fully articulated!
Let’s look closer: Mickey is wearing a bright red helmet with a yellow stripe and a “flame” decal. It reminds me of a Formula 1 racing helmet.
On his face, the nose and smile are perfectly sculpted — you can even see his little tongue! The eyes, unfortunately, are just painted on rather than being 3D. His fingers are well-defined, and there are even lines etched into his palms.
He’s dressed in a white T-shirt under a light blue button-down shirt with slightly rolled-up sleeves and yellow shorts. He’s even wearing white gloves, elbow pads, and knee pads. You can actually see the pockets and buttons on the shirt! There are even realistic fabric folds sculpted into his clothes.
His shoes are black on the bottom and red on top, complete with molded laces! He’s also rocking a pair of blue headphones around his neck; they are rubberized, so they have a bit of a flexible “give” to them.
Then there’s the kick-ass skateboard. The wheels actually spin and have a springy suspension! There’s a sticker on top that makes it look super vibrant. Usually, real skateboards have the art on the bottom, but it looks awesome this way regardless!
The toy isn’t just great because of the sculpt; the plastic has absolutely zero chemical smell. The whole figure consists of 4 main parts plus stickers. It was fairly easy to assemble — definitely not as tricky as Master Yoda was.
Along with the toy, there was a beautiful instruction manual and a sturdy cardboard insert with a QR code. You can scan it to open a game in the app, but I personally didn’t want to install anything extra.
What moves?
You can rotate the head, the torso (at the T-shirt level), and the tail. The skateboard rolls perfectly, and the headphones are flexible.
My Impressions
The toy is high-quality and quite large, standing about 13 cm (5.1 inches) tall. For comparison, I took some photos of Mickey next to Baby Yoda (Grogu) from a standard Kinder Surprise and Master Yoda from a Kinder Maxi. I also included a shot of the different capsule sizes.
If I had received this as a child, I would have been jumping for joy. But even now, this set brings me so much excitement — plus, it’s a massive hit of Kinder chocolate for a true chocoholic! My mood has been boosted straight into the stratosphere!
The Price
Before Easter, these were selling for €11.99. The day after Easter, I found them on sale for €6.99. (Easter in Italy was on April 5th). If you can wait just a few days, you can save a lot of money! However, the coolest collections usually get snatched up in the first few days.

How do you feel about the modern “yolks” that don’t snap apart but open with a side hinge? Do you miss the classic two-piece capsules? And which series would you choose: old-school Disney, hyped Harry Potter, Disney Princesses, PAW Patrol, Batman, or Pokémon?
